Hello Art ’15
For the months of July and August we are taking the iconic Hello Kitty on a journey across the world. During the Summer, we got to see the wonderful Hello Kitty exhibit held at the Japanese American National Museum, a retrospective and celebration of the character’s 40th anniversary. We at CM3, were inspired by all the wonderful works of art and very impressed by Hello Kitty’s influence and reach across all ages. The show did a wonderful job showcasing Hello Kitty’s placement in popular culture, landing on everything from jewelry to jets! With this in mind, we’ve created projects to incorporate the friendly design of Hello Kitty with a country for the students to learn about. We traveled with Hello Kitty from Japan, to India, the Netherlands, and Mexico. We examined each country’s arts and style and presented them through Hello Kitty!
